400 notes and even more stupid comments! You guys really need to play a Blizzard game that isn’t Overwatch. I’m serious. They do not care about representation. They’re only doing this now because they screwed over all their other money-makers (WoW, Diablo, even Starcraft) and need the attention. It’s no different from League of Legends tossing in their first lesbian character (in like, the 10 years they’ve been around) right after they’re slammed with accusations of sexual harassment and a lawsuit for underpaying. 

“Representation” in the name of money isn’t representation. You can still enjoy Jack being gay if you like, but remember that it’s only for the money, Blizzard doesn’t care about us. 

They literally do not care about about representation. Look at all the gay WoW leads. Oh what? There isn’t any? The most representation the gays got in WoW was the ten thousand years dead lesbian ghosts elves you reunited who don’t exists as characters outside that storyline? Interesting.

They don’t care about you. They don’t. Companies do this shit for their good egg award and your money in your pockets. Don’t believe me? Gearbox did the same shit with Borderlands 2, where you had to pay for DLC for two passing lines for two out of the six playable classes that they where bi and asexual.

It sucks that this is how your representation comes, but don’t be afraid to tell a company no. Don’t be afraid to demand representation that isn’t just hamfisted in for the fans. You are the consumer. At the end of the day, you’re the one with the say.

Heres the thing you gotta understand about statistics. 

“Increases your chances by 80%” does not mean “there is now an 80% chance”. 

If your chances were previously 10%, your chances are now 18%, not 90%. 

if your chances were roughly 1%, they’re now just slightly less than 2%. 

thats how that works.

okay i know this is like funny haha meme and all but anna todd is an almost 30 year old married woman who wrote a fanfiction about harry styles who is many years younger than her that not only has him in a lot of incredibly explicit sex scenes but it also portrays him as an abuser bad boy who only wants the main character (bland self-insert girl next door type) for sex. i read a large chunk of the first book of after when i was in middle school and it’s really Not Good.

after has been a problem in the 1d fandom for fucking years because besides being incredibly disrespectful towards harry, by virtue of it being a ~~harry styles fanfiction~~ on wattpad it attracted A LOT of younger girls who were then exposed to a really really unhealthy relationship dynamic that they are encouraged to want and romanticize because it has their idol.

so yes while the sentence “theyre turning a one direction wattpad fic into a movie” is really funny out of context as someone who has been following 1d since before after’s conception and watched firsthand all the bullshit it caused im really encouraging everyone to think about this and maybe give it the criticism it deserves.

I fucking remember this. Lots of girls in my classroom were obsessed with it. One of them ended up in an abusive relationship.
